Maria Laumark
Dramaturg, Theatre Practitioner and Translator
I am from Aarhus, Denmark, but have lived in London since 2017.
I work as a Dramaturg and Theatre Practitioner with a focus on access, language and international collaborations. This work can take shape in different ways but often means I am part of developing, making and facilitating new work in multilingual spaces that are accessible to the artists, audiences and participants.
I am currently working as Associate Producer for Told by an Idiot and Co-lead Facilitator for Angel Shed. I recently completed an MA in Dramaturgy at Birkbeck University (awarded the Michael Ross Prize for Best Dramaturgical Protocol Practice). I’m also an Associate Artist with The Egg - Theatre Royal Bath.
I have worked with companies such as Zoo Co, Royal Court Theatre, The Old Vic, Foreign Affairs, Cut the Cord and West End venues.
I have toured internationally with my own company and worked in Denmark, Sweden, Ecuador, Poland and Croatia on international projects.
I am an experienced facilitator and deliver workshops across the UK and Denmark.
I am a Danish and English translator. My translations and adaptations include David Eldridge's play Middle at Teatret Svalegangen 2024 and Max Wolf Friedlich’s play Job at Teatret Svalegangen and Himmerlands Teater 2026.
I offer Access Consultantcy and have worked in access teams on shows with integrated sign language, creative captions and audio description. I also have British Sign Language level 2.
